First - thank you for reading and commenting on my blog. 'It's good to share' as Bob Hoskins used to say. I'm delighted someone else knows of Barnes & Barnes' 'Fishheads'. I spent the better part of my youth in a Nottingham nightclub called Rock City (unlike 'The Electric Banana', it's still there)and at least once every Saturday night they would unfurl the video screens (very modern at the time) and play this video. We loved it, but the reason I'm so pleased to see it again, is that it effortlessly takes me back to the glorious age of seventeen. Thanks for that.
Oh this so made me smile, a big goofy smile. I saw this many many many years ago and it's one of those things that if you get it/understand it, then we are like minded and could well become friends :>)
Love this, makes me happy (I'm weird and twisted I know).
M&G Glad you liked Fish Heads – fabulous to be taken back to your teenage years at Rock City. It's a very weird but compelling thing, this Fish Head malarkey. I find it sinister yet sweet.
Chris, we could definitely be friends – I'm weird and twisted, too, and I love the strangeness of Fish Heads :)
Well I hope you're happy with yourself? That was properly weird. Really freakish. Why on earth is it so compelling? I watched it twice earlier and just found myself kind of transfixed. It is horrible, it really is, and yet in a sick way I really liked it.
I must admit, Mellifluous, that I never came across this when I was younger. I'm not really sure how it passed me by. I'm glad it did, though, because I was a sensitive sort of a boy.
Don't make friends with Chris, MD - she's off her tree. Trust me on this, please. (Hello Chris, hello Mr Anthrope).
Okay, you've proved that such a song exists, and I am forced to admit that I was wrong to call you a disgraceful and shameless wee liar for suggesting such a thing. All you need to do now is apologise for being right, and we can move on.
I'm pretty cross, really, that I liked this thing. It doesn't feel right.
Baffled, although still wishing you only good things (just),

Your beautiful guest,

I knew you'd like it... TPE, welcome to the Mellifluous Dark side. Oh, yes, you were already there.
ReplyDeleteIt is very weird. But that is surely the best thing about it, eh? I like the bit where he's watering the fish heads.
