Bright eyes...

I have watched Albert washing her silky butterscotch ears, possibly for the last time. Tomorrow, she will in all likelihood, be re-homed. She is such a lovely creature, sweet, and makes me smile when her whiskers brush my ankles as she gives me rabbit kisses.

But she and M no longer get on.

I have been taken by surprise by the sense of loss I feel at the prospect of losing my little pet.

The lump in my throat is choking me.

  1. Oh I'm so sorry to hear this. Who knew rabbits could hold a grudge. I hope Albert becomes happy and well adjusted at the new place. Will you get visiting rights?

  2. Thanks, Chris. It's so sad... I cried buckets last night with her on my lap. I had no idea rabbits could carry on in this way but sadly they are tough old things. Albert is going into emergency foster care until they find her a suitable home. I'd like to visit her to see that she is OK and settled. I'm not sure if that will happen but I will find out.

  3. I've felt horrible since she went. I cried all over her when I said goodbye. S took her to a woman who works for a rescue centre for bunnies – she had a lovely home and seemed friendly. I hope Albie isn't too scared being in her (temporary) new surroundings tonight... :(
