The police came round and were very helpful. They listened, gave advice and offered to help. The main constable, who was an excellent communicator, soared in my estimation when he took the effects on my health and sleep very seriously, saying that he feels rubbish when he misses sleep and could relate to how I must feel.
It's a shame GFG isn't home, as they would have had a word about harassment among other things. Her front door had been left open (she'd left it that way), so they had a good look round her flat (and commented that they could see what I mean re the doors...) while shouting: "anyone in?" Ha ha, bet she'd love to have seen that.
They'll be back.
MD this situation seems to be going from bad to worse (having read your previous post). I'm glad you've got the police involved - though isn't it such a shame that it comes to this. Reading about all the banging I started wondering if GFG isn't perhaps a demented and really pissed off poltergeist! I mean what else on earth can explain the persistent banging?! You must be past the point of having your head done in.
ReplyDeleteHopefully if she's gone away for a bit you'll at least get some sleep.
This is terrible. The people who used to live above us were rather like this too and when they moved out it seemed like they were purposefully trying to damage the property by slamming the door each time they moved their stuff out to the lorry. This was in front of their parents so clearly from a family of scum and it sounds as if your neighbour is from the same mould.
ReplyDeleteGlad the police took it seriously. Does she own her flat or is she renting it?
As well as disturbing your sleep it is awful when you are made to feel uncomfortable in your own home.
Hi Vanilla, indeed the situation had got worse. I reached my limit on Monday night – I just couldn't fathom putting up with the noise/vibration/disturbance/insomnia (especially this) again. Not after everything I've been through in terms of getting my sleep almost back on track. I wish she were just a ghost as all we'd have to do is hold an exorcism!
ReplyDeleteShe is not back yet. But when she returns, so will the police...
Sanddancer, I do wonder what sort of family she has come from where she can possibly think that her behaviour is acceptable. It's just crazy, beyond my comprehension. We have tried to give her the benefit of the doubt but it would appear that she is just a strange, anti-social, obnoxious, selfish person. I'm glad you don't have to put up with those neighbours of yours any longer – they sound awful!
ReplyDeleteShe owns her flat and is trying to sell it. I wish she would but the prices are falling and I think she will want to rent it out.
Yes, I hugely resent being made to feel uncomfy in my own home but have definitely reached the point where the last straw has been slotted on and the camel is bucking like mad. Enough's enough.
