Forgetfulness or madness?

I cannot believe I asked my friend about his cat, his old faithful moggy, only to be told that he had already told me about the poor animal's death. I feel bad.

I half think he maybe didn't really tell me.

I half think maybe he did and I was in the throes of something that managed to occupy all of my headspace.

That is not good.

  1. Oh, honey, I'm with you. I am preoccupied just now affairs of the heart, and terrible things in the world, and I honestly stimes can't work out what is real, what is imagined and what is dreamt (my dreams are very vivid).

Poor moggie. Poor friend. Poor you.

  2. Thanks, NMJ. I hope things clear for you and these preoccupations become smaller and less all-encompassing (for us both).

The world is a bit crazy at the moment... I was going to write about All That but haven't the words right now.

  3. Shite!!! I hate it when that happens ... which is way too often. Perhaps we are forgetfully preoccupied with madness?!?

  4. I really do wonder, Beth.

I still am ashamed/horrified that I could forget such a thing...

  5. Yep, I know this experience. Just yesterday I had lunch with a friend I haven't seen in years. I started off by asking what she was doing with herself these days. At the end of lunch, I asked her again... I think there is just too much going on at the moment for all of us.
